it's a long weekend for me. am supposed to be attending a wedding this day, but had to stay behind since lola will be left along at home. but it's still okay since lola and i will be attending the birthday party of one of our neighbors (she turns 80), so there's still free food for me.
tomorrow, sunday, i'll be joining the company outing to montemar bataan. i had thoughts of letting this off, since i've already been there 3 or 4 years ago (company outing, too), but then, why let this pass? there's free food, aircondtioned room and a view of the sea. besides, i am a part of the committee for this event, guess which part? no, not photo, it's the food committee this time! i'll be back on monday evening.
tuesday is a nationwide holiday, because it's spiderman's first run!
right now, as i write, there are two electric fans aimed right through me and a full glass of ice cold ice tea (rendundant na!). yeah, the house is one big steam house, and we're all turning into shiomais here!
Tame me
Thursday, April 26, 2007
"to me, you are still nothing more than a little boy
who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys.
And I have no need of you.
And you, on your part, have no need of me.
To you I am nothing more than a fox
like a hundred thousand other foxes.
But if you tame me, then we shall need each other.
To me, you will be unique in all the world.
To you, I shall be unique in all the world. . ."
"I am beginning to understand,"
said the little prince.
madel's treat
Sunday, April 22, 2007
spent this day with netty, mads and dodan at festival mall, alabang. it was madel's birthday last april 18, so she treated us to lunch at pizza & company. we had so much, that it took us 'till 5 just finishing our food (we were there since 1)! but the best treat of all was when madel handed me the camera flash as a (belated) birthday gift! yes, getting old is good, always good! grabe! sobrang nakakatuwa! so if you'll notice any improvement with the photo above, that's because of my spanking brand new flash! yipeee!!!
to kuya aries and madel, maraming maraming salamat! iwuvu!!! muuaah!!!
handheld shot, tripod's out again. this time, not my fault, but nanay's. i placed the tripod in the car days ago before our trip, and after sometime she removed it thinking it was another 'kalat'. hay naku.
photo was not edited, those two silver dots are real stars.
sunday rants

okay okay, pacman won. so what's the big fuss?? yeah, he used to be my hero, my idol. kahit pa mali mali english nya, it didn't bother me. kahit pa hindi sya guwapo like erik morales, at least he's charming. in his last fights, our whole household stopped it's usual sunday routine (which is actually lazing around) and obediently stay tuned in one channel awaiting his fight. at that time, we're united. we even ate lunch in front of the tv so we wouldn't miss a second of his fight.
but this fight with solis, i wasn't at all interested. it was only tatay who watched their fight. all because pacman is running for office (as a congressman in south cotabato)! at one point, i wished for solis to defeat him, just to teach him a lesson.
may gad! if he really wants to, he can help people even if he's not a government official. i'm no analyst, but by merely browsing through his background, i don't see him fit for the job. goodness, a high school graduate??? it's really obvious that he's letting other people control him in joining politics. take note of his inconsistencies. first, it was the city of manila (running mate of atienza's son as vice mayor) that he was eyeing for, then now, south cotabato.
pacman doesn't hold that magic anymore. now i hate seeing his ugly face on tv. i hate how he speaks - halatang scripted kasi.

sooobrang init na talaga ng panahon. todo na talaga. my rashes are bit by bit creeping out, migraine's threatening to enslave me once again. i had to take at least two baths in day to survive the heat. drink at least two litters of iced tea to keep up my body temperature. bakit ba kasi wala kaming katabing mall dito sa pacita. buti na lang i go to work everyday, saving my mondays to fridays. but weekends are just so unbearable if i just have to stay home the whole day. i guess i'm sleeping at nanay and tatay's room tonight, kasi kwarto lang nila ang may aircon. room ko bentilador lang, sira pa ang turnilyo so it won't revolve properly. hay naku, buhay ng parasite (sa magulang).
Lola's Photo Book

this is what's keeping me busy lately. i'm only until page 15, and that's not even half of the pile.
another ballet stuff
Tuesday, April 10, 2007
---
was at canossa sta. rosa yesterday for the ballet students' recital. will post more photos soon
---
saw mrs. barroso, my english teacher/adviser now high school principal already, while i was outside the auditorium. i approached and shook hands with her. told her i am an alumni, and i'm attending the recital with a family friend.
"so, are you also going to dance ballet"
at that point, i was glad that she still remembers me (she may have forgotten my name, but at least, she still remembers me as the one who did ballet way way back)
"ay, hindi po, i'm only going to take pictures"
"oh, i see. at medyo tumaba ka na kasi, hija"
i could only flash a smile. sige na, tumaba na nga kung tumaba.

ate J: how much ang talent fee mo?
riccicutie: no fee, just give me food.
when tita G (ate J's mom) learned about this: bigyan na ng TF yan, malakas kumain yan, lugi kung food.

Nanay wanted us to bring the picnic basket for our packed lunch and snacks. I told her it was unnecessary since I could place our food in a paper bag. Then it came out, what she really wanted was for us to bring home some gulay ang bagoong from Pangasinan! Hay naku, ang Nanay ko talaga. The only local goods we brought home was a kilo of puto and 3 bundles patupat (photo above).

Anong wish mo? Lola asked when we were heading for the next church. I said that I wished for M, what else. Funny, but nowadays, the word 'hiling' would immediately get my thoughts to M. Maybe this is a sign of maturity already, that my personal intentions lands on the second slot, or most of the times, on the last or none at all.
She said she wished for J's exam. So on the next church, I wished for J. I only had two specific wishes - one for M and the other for J. The other 12? Well, I could not wish for anything actually, not that I have it all, but I was taught not to wish, or rather pray for material things. God knows what we need so there's no point of asking him for money or any riches on earth. (Well, except for some 'things' that I badly badly want/need)
So for the next 12 stations, I prayed that God grant all my Lola's wishes.. prayers.
---
And for answered prayers, my sister, Jaene, recently got a driver's license at first take! Our Tita it had on take 3, so I wasn't really confident that she'd make it, being the weakly, shrimpy-wimpy that she is. If you know the lampayatot commercial on TV years ago, you'd get what I mean. But then, prayers can move mountains, and so does granting a driver's license with a brand new car in tow!

Saturday, March 31I tagged along with Nanay to her high school classmate's despedida party (sort of reunion among their batch in a way). The venue was beside the Folk Arts Theater. I had a good view of the Manila Bay. Too bad, I didn't bring the tripod (same mistake over and over again). So the photo on the top left came out blurred. Their group then proceeded to the Baywalk area to continue their 'meeting' for the next batch outing at Baguio.
Sunday, April 1Palm Sunday. Louraine and I went to the church at 8am to take photos and video of Lola's church friends who weren't able to attend her party.
Sunday night, Lola and I headed to Pangasinan for the Bisita Iglesia. We left Pacita at 12:30 midnight, right after when the first station of the cross was finished(first station was at our Parish). There were 15 buses all in all, and I'm estimating that there were over 500 parishioners who participated. Here's a photo from one of the churches we've visited. Will post more soon.
