we had a reunion since it was jelly's last day here (she's going back to US where she works and stays with hubby). yes, jelly, the baby of the group is already married. i came a little late since i first heard mass at 7pm. the mass lasted for over an hour since there was a healing something (wherein the priest dabbed oil in our foreheads). venue was at pacita 2 studio. when i came at around past 8pm, they were already through with dinner. afterwards, we went to the studio - the new one at the back (rgrv has 3 studios now, it was only one during our time) for some 'pictorial'.



ate ida took these shots. in between 'shoots' we laughingly reminisce our old days, digging more than 10 years back. the 'bullying' era (which i insisted to them that i was never a bully, i was just tagging along with the 'bullies', but i was never one). how ate gigi's 'sadista' method worked on us. ccp days. ballet camps (one was even held as far as baguio), ballet workshops, bloody rehearsals (literally speaking, i broke a toe nail one time during a practice). my first take of alcohol was with this girls, the biggest bottle of gilbey's - and my first time to get wasted (i remember june panicking when i threw up outside the studio. she even had to drag me to her brother's car to take me home). my first take of porno films was with them, too.

when summer of '96 was about to end, and in time for me to get in to college, i wished that i'd be 16 forever, so i could be with them always. ang babaw, pero i really wished for it. i still joined (danced) the next summer recital, in 1997, and that was my last. the next years after that, i still joined the recitals, but i only 'worked' backstage, assisting.

after our 'pictorial', jelly said she wanted to have some halo-halo, so off we went to chowking. we stayed there until chowking staffs are already piling up the tables and chairs for closing (which is about 11pm). we bought diapers first for june's baby at the nearby pharmacy before they took me home.

RGRV's summer recital.

I was up at 4:30am and went off with the gang (all ten of us packed inside the delica van - Ate Jing, ate Jit, Ate Ids, Ana, Aryan and 4 boys) at 5:30 to star theater (inside Star City, CCC Complex). Travel time from Pacita to Star Theater only took less than an hour.

Props were set up first immediately after arriving. Blocking started at around past 9am. Dress rehearsal at 12:30pm. The show started at 4pm and lasted until 7pm.





After the show, Ate Jing (or Ate Jit?) said we'd watch Lisa's performance on the same theater where we held the show. Tita G said Ruben's dancing also. Tita G asked me " kilala mo pa ba si Ruben, yung batang palagi ninyong pinapa-iyak noon? Ayan, star dancer na sya ni Lisa Macuja ngayon" I thought for a moment, then "Tita G, pano namin aapihin si Ruben, e lagi nyang kasama nanay nya.." and besides, I don't remember myself being a bully ever.. Ruben, by the way, is an alumni of RGRV and is about Louraine's age.



This is Ruben and Lisa. Ruben played (or danced?) the lead role as Don Jose and Lisa as Carmen. Yes, again and again, I was able to sneak my camera inside. Star theater's staff are not really that strict anyway.

After Lisa's show, we had dinner at one of the restaurants inside Star City. Ruben followed shortly to join us for dinner. We went home at past almost 12 midnight already.

Monday Batangas

May 14, Monday

tagged along with tatay to batangas. i needed to go, since it was nanay's order that while she's not around - whereever the revo goes, i go. though tatay didn't take it lightly. medyo nagtampo when he learned about it, sabi nya, wala daw kaming tiwala sa kanya. i soothed him by saying "tatay, it's not you, it's the revo. masyado kasing possesive si nanay dito e"

afterwards, we had meryenda - pansit and puto, as a way of remembering (paternal) lola's death anniversary.

Sunday EK

May 13, Sunday

jovie said rm needs to unwind, with tons of stuff going in her head, she deserves a break. and here's our way of unwinding - going on a road trip! jovie brought her revo with hubby as our guwapong driver. the whole bunch includes jovie with hubby sael and brother junjun, bridj with emil and baby ellery and rm. they picked me up at around 11am at caltex gas station, after mamplasan exit. after exiting sta. rosa, sael thought we would go straight to EK but when bridj and rm said that it's still too hot to wander around EK, we detoured. directions got mixed up until we realized that the way we were taking was already manila bound (no thanks to my 4 years of stay in sta. rosa. - bakit ba kasi may memory gap na ako).

thankfully, we found our way to tagaytay. the whole trip was filled with laughters - reminiscing our 'old' days at trend. at dahil sosyal kami, we opted to have lunch at josephine's. since it was mother's day, we had to wait for an hour before we got our table. food was good, i feel i've stacked a week's dinner worth. there goes my diet!

haven't taken any scenic photo of tagaytay, kasi nga, allergic ako sa araw. this i regret after getting off. anyway, here are our mango shakes!



after the heavy lunch, we went to EK! before lining up for the tickets, it took us some time to figure out if we'd go for the ride-all-you-can or just the park entrance ticket. all of us girls didn't want the ride all you can and so the boys obliged to settle with the park entrance ticket. so there, after spending too much on our lunch, we're reduced to cheapos just wanting to have a walk around EK. well, the park entrance tickets includes a ride all you can on the carousel.









this is my 'special-carousel-ride' stamp on my sweaty for arm. we stayed at EK until past 7. on our way home (sael and jovie would drop me off at my house after) as if still not contented with the long ride we've had since the start of the day, we passed beyond my exit - southwoods so we had to turn around when we reached susana heights. this time, it's not memory gap. blame it on our never ending stories (read: daldalan kasi ng daldalan) that i've forgotten to remind sael that southwoods is only a few meters away.

It was a nice day spent with friends!

missing

no, it's not jannin who's missing. it's the jacket! orig Roxy ang jacket na yan, binili pa sa estados unidos. last seen hanging on jannin's chair at her work area. wish lang namin ni jannin, wala pa sya sa ukay ukay.

bumoto ka ba?

ano? bumoto ka ba? ako oo, kanina, kasama ko si lola. we're supposed to have voted at 7am, as i told lola last night that i dont want to go when the sun is already blasting its scorching waves. kaya lang, i wasn't able to get up that early, so ayun, tanghaling tapat kami naka-alis. tatay was kind enough to drive us to the nearest public school. buti na lang today's weather was okay, not really painfuly hot (in our place at least).

as expected, nagkalat ang mga namimigay ng flyers/sample ballots. lola and i already knew where our designated precints are - thanks to the ppc volunteers at our parish, so we went straight to our rooms. when i entered the room, i was asked for my name then i reached for my ID for proper identifaction. the lady in charge (how do you call them ba when they function this way? election staff?? i just know that they are public school teachers) didn't even bother to check it, didn't even take a look at my pretty face on my ID. she handed me the ballot and told my i'm good to go. so there. since i already have a list, it didn't took long. i got up and handed my ballot to one of the poll watchers. he cut my ballot's lower half and dropped the them on the ballot box. afterwards, he dropped an indelible in on my right index finger. that's my finger you're seeing above.

different thing happened to lola. no poll watcher inside her room. i noticed that she had no indelible ink on her finger. when i pointed that out, she said "ano, babalik ba tayo, para patakan daliri ko" sabi ko wag na. then a thought played in my mind - pabalikin ko kaya si lola to vote under nanay's name? tutal naman, napaka-lax ng mga teachers to even bother to check the ID. but then, di bale na lang. i discarded the thought and just decided to inform one of the volunteer watchers when we were going out. i informed one of the watchers - told him the the one in charge in the precinct where lola voted didn't even bother to give her a drop of indelible ink. the watcher just stared at me, didn't even react. hhmm.. hindi naman sya siguro bingi? or baka nabighani lang sa kausap nya.. anyway, just to show you one of the many lapses every election day. well, at least walang brownout sa amin, not like in one part of mindanao where they have to vote with only candles as the source of light.

after voting, tatay and i went to batangas for (paternal) lola's death anniversary. that's my magnificent view while inside the car. i love the cloud formation here (photo was not manipulated - i only adjusted the color, that's just it)

our cutesy cuddly kitties are quite behaving badly. they have this naughty habit of climbing the pots and sleeping on them (not to mention leaving some unwanted waste along). lola doesn't want the kitties to be going over her plants, but i don't want them to be thrown out in the streets. so what to do? here's lola's brilliant idea -



she placed some kawayan around the plant so there would be no space for the kitties. and the other day, she told me that she 'scolded' the kitties for being too mischievous! i hope she didn't kick them like what nanay does when she sees the kitties loitering around. poor kitties.
