doc rowsee's send off coffee session
Wednesday, June 25, 2008
doc rowsee's leaving tonight for US, so there goes another coffee session last night.
as usual, i was plucked out by candy with rowsee and cacay. brought my rebel only to find out later that i forgot to bring the memory card. shet. sayang ang moments. i even brought the flash and the light diffuser. sayang talaga. *note to self, check gears and accessories before leaving home!!!*
gracie was dropped by hubby dubby dem, kiddies and yayas in tow. then epols who looked flawlessly radiant in her newly peeled skin. greysi was next to arrive with hubby dubby kim, who was looking for a "playmate" to go with him at daang hari. jef, in pajamas ang long sleeve shirt dropped by, with boom and anton who's also in pajamas. cute! he didn't last long, only said his hi's and hello's.
chikka for the night, let the adiks spread that the reason why doc is leaving is because she's jontis, and the culprit is "someone from her past".
Poohkwang Night Out
Sunday, June 22, 2008
Madel's leaving in a few weeks, and here's our way of making the most of it - spending a fun-filled night at the the Poohkwang concert, and spending the night together talking non-stop.
We had dinner first at Pasto, beside Music Museum. I was the one who got there first so I placed our orders in advance while waiting for Madel and Ona. It was already past 7pm, and the show is starting at 8pm.
Since we were in a hurry, while still finishing my carbonarra, I asked the waiter to have my grape juice packed. At eto ang kanilang version of the grape juice for "take-out". At pano ko kaya iinumin ang juice ko this way? Using a straw? Or using a spoon? At take note, nasa microwavable container ang iced fruit ko. They should have at least notified us that they have no plastic tumbler for juices. But nooooo, they assumed I could gulp down the juice this way, like sipping soup from a bowl. Ona lashed out at the waiters and waitresses, while Madel and I lauged like crazy.
We went to Music Museum at exactly 8. The show started at around 8:30. There was an audo visual presentation first, showing Pooh and Pokwang inside the dressing room. Afer 15 minutes, dancers came down the stage, followed by Pooh and Pokwang.
Below is their showdown dialogue, trying to outdo each other.
Lotsa lotsa liftings and throwings. Trivia, Pokwang was one of the VIP dancers, and used to do shows in Japan. Kaya naman ang taray ng mga dance moves nya.
Pokwang, while doing her act, interacts with the audience. Music Museum was packed, specially the bleachers area. There were even some who sat on the aisle.
Erik Santos singing 'Just when I thought I was over you'. Ampogi pala ni Erik. Iluvu Erik!
Pokwang taking the role of Babae sa Balete drive. She tried to scare off two fat gays, whom she later called pigsang bading. Next is a whore who mistook her for competition, then two fat policemen who tried to arrest her .
Pooh doing her own version of 'Janina'. Wagi ang giant pink telephone props nya dito. OA sa laki e.
The most controversial act, Pokwang impersonating Annabel Rama. For the 'offensive' part, Pokwang delivered it without sounds. She just opened her mouth and mimicked her moves (as if playing charades).
Toni is the other guest of the night. She did a duet with Pokwang, Crazy for you, and sang another song. I don't know what the title of the song is, Ona said it was used in one of the tagalized koreanovela in channel 2.
Pooh and Pokwangs last act, singing Aegis' song (I forgot the title) while stripping down. They were wearing a bridal costume before this.
The show ended at around 11pm. The three of us went to Leo's office, bought coffee at Starbuck's. Thanks to Leo for the treat!
We then proceeded to our room for the night, at the 22nd floor of (again, I forgot the name of the condo) the condo right next to Leo's building. Again, thanks to Leo for footing the bill, mwah!
Here's our room's view, Makati by night.
What's an overnight with your girlfriends without picture-takings? The remote control of my camera had no batteries, so I had to run to the camera, click the shutter, go back and pose with the gurls, wait for 10 seconds and click! I wasn't able bring any sleepwear for the night, so Madel lent me her blouse and leggings. Buti nagkasya =)
Here's our view on the following day, gloomy Makati.
Ona left at 5am. Madel and I slept 'till 9am. We got down to check her car and went up again to prepare to leave. We checked out at 11am and had brunch at Bento box.

10 random things about me
tagged by maane and kendi
1. Each blogger starts with 10 random facts/habits about themselves.
2. Bloggers who are tagged need to blog about their own 10 random facts/habits.
3. At the end of your blog, tag 10 people and list their names.
4. Don't forget to leave them a comment and tell them that they've been taggged and to read your blog
10 random "Ricci" facts:
1. My name should have been Ma. Lourdes as insisted by my Lola since I was born on February 11, the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes.
2. I don't know how to swim but I could float well with face facing up.
3. I was 15 when I had my first out of town trip without parents tagged along. I was with my sister Jaene along with our ballet friends. We attended a 1 week ballet conference at the Teacher's Camp in Baguio. The "emergency" money was handed to my sister (two years younger than me) since Jaene is the more responsible offspring.
4. We had a santol and bayabas tree when we were young (before our house got renovated), but I never had a single taste of santol and bayabas.
5. I was taught how to drive when I was 13, and 15 years more, i'm still learning how to.
6. I love editing my photos in photoshop. I seldom post my pics in raw. Feeling ko kase, hubad ang photo ko pag di ko ni-edit.
7. During my early years at work, when I used to do graveyard shift, the most important thing to bring was my shades (as important as my cellphone and wallet). If I realize that I forogt to bring it, kahit malayo na narating ko, I'd still go back to the house and get it. It was pure torture to my eyes when I get out of the office on broad daylight, that sometimes I feel I'll vomit.
8. I love pastel colors. I hate black and other dark colors. I have no black garment in my closet.
9. My shoe size is 7, body size (US standard) is 6. (hint to those who want to gift me with shoes and clothes.. hehehe)
10. Chocolates, I don't think I can live without it.

no kendi = no kopee.
thanks to nonee and armin for the ride home!
Ona and Leo
Monday, June 02, 2008
leo and ona tied the knot on saturday, may 31. their actual wedding rites held in the church earlier in the morning at 10am was only witnessed by immediate family members and sponsors. so the "rampa" with the entourage was held at the reception venue at villa immaculada, intramuros. the wedding march started at around 6pm.
call time at the hotel was at 3pm. dahil bagong buhay na ako (avoiding my last booboo at owsi's wedding where i got to the church 5 minutes too late, the bride was already at the altar) i got on time. ona was having her make-up done, while everyone else was getting dressed.
i fired away my rebel while the photographers did their things. no flash since there was a halogen light with filter set up. actually, i wasn't able to use the flash the whole time of the wedding. it was too bulky, and i can't carry too many things around since i'm in a gown. baka masira ang get-up ko.
here, ona was made to pose on different angles, different acts, different facial expressions. the head photographer (she had 3), manong boy, acted out as her director. i saw here the importance of having a good rapport between the model (subject) and the photographer. the two should be in-sync and should be comfortable with each other to achieve that "natural" effect.
like ona, leo had to have his face done also. a dab of foundation and lip gloss and a tinge of blush to achieve a dashing look! ona's hair took the longest time to prepare.
here's ona's designer, mama willie and his apprentice, jm helping her get dressed. ona didn't include a veil in her gown since she was already married earlier in the morning.
here's the lovely bride. the photographers had set up another lighting here. again, i joined them in shooting ona.
here are some of the behind the scenes shots of the photographers. on the left is one of manong boy's staff, taking macro shots. on the right is manong boy, talking to ona to have another pose
here's a wacky shot of the whole entourage. it was only in this wedding that i've seen two best men. yes, two. tapos ako na maid of honor isa lang. hehe.
she only had 4 bridesmaids and 4 grooms men to match. no veil sponsor, cord sponsor, candle lighters, ring bearer, coin bearer, etc. after the walk-down-the-aisle, someone from leo's church lead the prayer. then the two recited their vows. no pastor (or priest?) officiated the ceremony, since they were already married prior to this.
after their vows, picture takings took place. there was a list prepared on every table (sobrang OC/organized si ona) so that everyone will know when their part will be.
my name was first to be called from the list to take part on a "game". i already had a hint that this will be the boquet tossing, but with a twist.
after every singles have been called, we were handed with a whistle. the game is entitled - how well do you know the couple. seeing my contenders, i felt a sense of superiority since i've known the couple way way back, even before they became a couple. maybe except for her cousin trish and malou, i knew i could easily get away with this game. or so i thought.
i was wrong! dead wrong! the mechanics of the game is that for every question asked regarding the couple, you have to be the first one to blow the whistle to get eliminated. for every question asked, i blew my hardest. ewan ko ba kung bakit hindi ako nauuna, kinakapos ba ako ng hininga, or bingi lang yung facilitator. then the question that got me was this - where was their first date as a couple. i answered the name of the mall. pokshet. mali daw. sa starcity daw sila unang nag-date, at kasama pa daw kami dun. mygad! memory gap? nakakahiya. i am their oldest friend in the group, and i wasn't able to get my way out. ona/leo, if ever you're gonna read this, pag-usapan natin ang "first date" na yan.
so there, i was the lucky one. this is actually my first time to "catch" a boquet in a wedding. i always stay at the end of the line whenever the bride tosses the boquet, para sure shot na hindi mapupunta sa akin. but i guess i ran out of luck this time.
here's our shot with the newly weds and the other loser, hehehe. i don't know his name, probably one of leo's barkada in his work.
leo and ona invited the whole class. i guess we're about 40, more or less. but it was only the 10 of us, little jamie and nanay included, who made it. three of us are part of the entourage (me, dodan and danny), so technically, 5 lang ang nag-effort pumunta (netty, mads, owsie, alice and jep).
here's us, cam whoring! walang pinalagpas na pagkakataon. buti na lang kasama ko si nanay, i have lotsa lotsa pics. we were the last guests to leave, at dahil dyan, we got freebies from leo! he gave us boxes of pastries. actually, we were also waiting for binalots, hehehe. but then, the pastries are already good enough. we parted ways at past 10pm already.
