went with lola and nanay to the church at around 3 in the afternoon. nanay and i were only supposed to have dropped lola (she serves as an usher on weddings on our church), but we decided to stay to make usyoso (ya know, like kung maganda ba ang bride, how's the wedding dress, the bridesmaid's gowns, the flower arrangements, etc). i saw one batchmate there, eric, said our quick hellos.

since the mother of the bride is one of lola's churchmate, lola was invited to the reception held at the las villas de manila clubhouse. again, nanay and i went with her, but we only stayed outside (again, making usyoso).

later in the evening, i met the adiks again for another round of kopee at sbc mamplasan. rounds of videoke biritan with matching dance numbers followed at angge's.

to the anonymous person who left a comment of the previous post, thanks for the kind words. i don't usually reply to strangers, but since binola mo ako, at dahil i easily fall for those who make bola to me, here's some notes about the shots -

first and foremost, both shots were made possible because of the flash (i'm eternally grateful to mads and kuya aries for this!). i directed the flash pointing upwards and placed a white piece of paper, on top of it, so the light only bounces to the subjects, not directly hitting them.

both of the photos were edited using lightroom version 1.2 (for color altering) then in photoshop cs3 for slight blurring (using gaussian blur) and for the borders.

magical sunday

was at rgrv's general rehearsal for the nutcracker show.
got myself familiar with the dance routines (i'll be taking photos of their actual
performance) and took some shots in between. this is the one i like best, joana doing
her solo dance as clara. forgive the teletubby props, praktis lang naman ito e.


when i was getting home, i saw the sister waiting outside our house for lola.
they'll be attending the 9pm mass (early version of the simbang gabi). as usual,
since i was carrying the camera, she asked for a snapshot. pinatapat ko sya directly
under the light post. flash was triggered for this shot, thus the effect.

chicoy's 7th birthday dinner partee

scenes from chicoy's birthday partee prepared by his loving mommy, cacay. i almost failed to make it, the alibi: i'm so pagod from the whole afternoon spent at quiapo with nanay. but then, since there's free food, why not, poknat. special thanks to kendi for da sundo't hatid! another special treat for the night - the meteor shower! lotsa lotsa falling stars / wishing stars, kelangan lang mabilis ang mga mata to spot them. thanks to kendi's truck for providing us (me, cacay, kendi and chette) a good puwesto (where we can comfortably rest our butts) to spot the stars!

cras!

watched batanes this morning and saw this piece of meat. yez! tumibok ang puso ko, kinilig sa kanyang mga sulyap, sadyang tinamaan talaga ako. i specially like the part when his character, rico, was asking pam (played by iza) to marry him. ang cute, ang sweet, so sweet, nakaka-iyak.



i stayed on my seat until the part of the cast of characters were displayed. and i got his name - joem bascon. when i got home, i hurriedly googled his name to get some pictures. kaya lang sawing palad, wala akong makitang hi-res na pic nya (gagawin ko sanang wallpaper sa pc). but lo and behold! when i was chatting with nownie, she said na kapitbahay daw nila si joem my labs. shet. pagkakataon nga naman talaga! bwehehe. so i asked nownie if she and armin could get a picture of him (at least 5r) na may autograph. aylabyu nownie!!!

funny thing, matagal ko na pala napapanood itong si joem my labs on tv, it was in this soap starring claudine and piolo - walang kapalit. deadma ko pa sya that time kase "nextdoor guy" pa ang da looks nya, tipong pang mr. pogi.

sunday afternoon walk at where our very own centro pacita. bwehehe. jolgs na kung jologs, but we didn't let the colorful blue skies and the cool breeze pass away. besides, this place is only 2 blocks away from our home.

but i use this as a headband. and i noticed since then, i had less migraine attacks.
maybe it's the magnets working.

this is a hello kitty daily journal that comes with a cute lock.
i call this as my "counting my blessings" journal. madaming bagay na
dapat ipagpasalamat. everynight, i write down all the things
that i am thankful about that had passed during the day,
even the small trivial things such as the sweet mango juice served during lunch,
comments of appreciation from work, the good weather, the smooth flowing
traffic at c5, at madami pang iba.

another goody that i received recently.
finally! after 27 years, i got hold of a copy of our house key. hindi naman sya
talaga gift per se, pero this is something new. in our house, only tatay and
my brother are the ones who have a spare key. since lately ay buhay na buhay ang
social life ko (adiks' sessions), i come home late (or most of the time, umaga na).
like the last time nonie and armin took me home, walang humpay akong nag-d-doorbell
while calling our landline thru my cellphone. they waited for like at least 5 mins until
my sister got out and opened the gate. sadyang mantika matulog ang family ko.
that's why i asked for another spare key.

spent my sunday afternoon at the anime convention with dodan at the mall of asia (uhhmm, there's actually a more formal title for this convention, but i'm not a fanatic, ya know. so anime convention chorva will have to do).

A curfew was carried out in most parts of Luzon (Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Region 4, etc) this past Thursday due to Senator Trillanes' little prank at the Manila Pen. In the news, it was told that call center agents and other peeps who has the same line of work are excempted. I'm not a call center agent, but I work for a company that operates 24 by 7. So there, I get the privilege to roam around the streets after 12 midnight, should another pesky curfew be implemented again.
