the 7-7-7 adventure

i said it's going to be an adventure, and yes, it really was. first off, it was both our first time to ride the lrt 2(running along aurora boulevard). and the day before our meet, i even downloaded a map, just to make sure that we don't get lost, taking note of the stations that we'd have to pass through. we agreed to meet at the gilmore station since she's coming form valenzuela, and i from way way south.i took the mrt (the one that runs along edsa) from magallenes and got off at araneta cubao station. from there, i went to the gateway mall to take the lrt2 going to gilmore. i got my ticket from an automated vending machine, good thing my wallet is choking up with coins, since the vending machine only accepts coins (from one peso coin upto 10 peso coin). fair from cubao upto gilmore is 12 pesos.
the lrt2 is way more spacious than the mrt and lrt1. sobrang lapad, you don't have to make siksik like sardinas inside. kind of remined me of the trains in singapore. and the aircon is also good - siguro kasi bago pa. another cool thing about it is the voice that signals the next station. it's a female's voice na okay ang diction (automated kasi) at hindi sabog ang sounds. way way better compared to the bisaya accents of the mrt2 drivers.
i reached gilmore station first. shortly, ria followed. we went straight to the pc shops and canvassed for a hard disk - going to and fro the shops, getting the price list, comparing and haggling (paboritong linya: last price na ba yan?).
while doing our rounds, we encountered one freaky vendor. we went inside this shop located at the ground floor, and this vendor, a long haired guy, entertained our inquiries. so, since we're only canvassing, we just got the price list and went out. we went upstairs to look for more shops. and what do you know? we saw the same guy, the long haired, at the second floor shop (the exact location where the ground floor shop is located). ria and i got so freaked out that! nakaka loka! saan kaya dumaan yun? questions came out like- baka may twin sya, or baka naman may secret passage from the first floor up to the second floor, or baka namamaligno tayo! anyway, we ended up not entering that shop out of fear from that long haired guy.
it took us about an hour going through the shops. so that we could discuss which hard disk (ria still can't figure out which from 120gig and 160gig she's going to get) and which shop we'd get it, we went to shakey's and ordered soup (para light lang, since it's not yet lunch time). aside from deciding which hard disk, we also did some catching up while sipping our very salty soup. the mushroom soup at shakey's sucks big time. sobrang alat! galit ata sa asin, and parang puro flour lang.
after the salty soup, ria said she wanted the 160gig. so off we went to the shop that sells the cheapest 160gig. we got her hard disk along with its enclosure. ria also bought cds and a card reader.
since it was lunch time, we headed to the gateway mall, taking the lrt2 again. we had lunch at the fastfood (riapot, if you're reading this, salamat sa lunch treat). then for dessert, we had dairy queen on a waffle with tripple chocolate topping. sarap!
we went ikot ikot at gateway and took some pictures. actually, medyo hesitant kaming mag picture picture, kasi baka sabihin ng tao jologs kami. on our way home, since we're both taking the mrt2, we passed through farmers plaza. si ria, nag shopping galore, slacks, dress, blouse. we didn't even notice that it was already past 6. we parted ways at 6:30 at the mrt2.
