"A son is a son till he takes him a wife, a daughter is a daughter all of her life."-From an Irish Saying -
On a table are two mothers with their two daughters. Over beer, the mothers are having a... well... sort-of-motherly conversation which goes
mama1 -- "kumusta na nga pala si D?
mama2 -- "oh! D has joined the (some activist movement).
mama1 -- surprised, very much surprised.. "ows? talaga? buti pumayag ang nanay nya?
mama2 -- "e yun ang gusto nya e.. bakit, ano na ba ang magagawa ng mga nanay kung may iba nang gusto ang mga anak?" grimacing, her pouty lips pointing to her daughter
mama1 -- agreeing completely "oo nga!" striking dagger looks over her own daughter
Moral of the story: Don't get yourself caught between conversing mothers specially when one of them is your own. Things get more complicated when there's beer involvled. When this happens, don't hesitate to look for the nearest exit.
