Unfinished

Monday, September 18, 2006

Bessie could see her eyes sparkling, and her smile exudes kilig, like that of a teenager dreaming about her crush.

"Hindi ka pa ba tatayo dyan?" Bessie's getting impatient.

"One more minute, please?" Jaimee shot back.

Bessie rolled her eyes. Bessie recognizes this familiar look on Jaimee's face. She has known Jaimee long enough to know what's really going on. She has seen Jaimee get high on love, on how she defied everything just because she's so in love. She knows once Jaimee falls, she falls too hard. And yes, she was there when Jaimee fell, got shattered and torned. She remembers the day when Jaimee came to her, in tears -

"Ganun ba talaga? Bakit ang sakit? Ang sakit pala..."

Bessie could only console her by saying that pain is a part of the package. From then, she has seen Jaimee slowly pick up the pieces. It took a long time for Jaimee to finally let go.

And now, Jaimee is back to her old self again.

Impulsive.

Stubborn.

Di na natuto, as Bessie would put it.

"Andyan na, you're so impatient talaga!" Jaimee snapped.

The smile still won't fade. To Jaimee, the mornings are more beautiful, though the skies are a bit gloomy. Love songs are more mushier, she even plays the same song over and over again and each time she plays it, it's like she's hearing it for the first time. She never gets tired of it. And she even paints a dream in her head with that love song, with him taking her in his arms, dancing under the moonlight. Yes, that's Jaimee, the hopeless romantic.

Bessie pinched Jaimee. "May I remind you na mali yang ginagawa mo, I hope you realize that before it's too late"

Jaimee heard Bessie, but she just smiled back.

A friend emailed me this story, she has no blog yet. I told her I'd post this for her.
