Nanay was online at YM yesterday morning, asking about the condition of the house, if everythings okay, about HER revo and other domestic stuffs. Of course, everything's okay. Except that the past Saturday night, it was Tatay's turn to get wounded. Here's how it happened: Louraine, being the big coward that she is, is greatly terrified by the stray schizophrenic dogs in our neighborhood. She doesn't get down from the tricycle without our gates being opened first, lest she be eaten alive by the fiercely dogs. The technique is that she calls our landline from her cell phone to tell anybody in the house to open the gates. Tatay was the lucky gate opener that time. As he hurriedly swung the gate open, his toe was accidentally hit, thus scraping a part of his toe (or skin or flesh?) off. That same night as I arrived from work, he showed me his poor toe, then covered with a piece of cloth to stop the bleeding.

Tatay "ang sakit sakit, di ko alam kung anong natanggal, kung kuko ba o yung balat"

I got the cue, I know Tatay wants me to treat the wound. But what can I do? I can't even look at my own wound, much less of another person's.

I told Nanay about Tatay's accident. And you know her reply?

"Sabihin mo sa kanya isawsaw nya sa suka"

Yes, this is purely a joke, since if she had been around, she'll definitely nurse the wound. That's my Nanay, brutal mangarinyo.

Later, she asked me "Okay ba na wala ako dyan?"

"siempre hindi noh!" I replied.

"ows?" I could see her eyebrows raising higher than her forehead

Followed by "e kase wala kang driver"

"Miss ko na nga kayo e, walang nag-f-freak out dito sa bahay" I replied.

And that's a sincere reply, mind you. I miss her, really, though it's only over a week since she left. I miss her high pitched voice in the mornings, our morning drive routine to work, her immortal beef sinigang, her habitual pinchings (yes, libangan talaga nya ang mangurot, galit man o hindi), our discussions on almost anything at nights while cruising the high way, while *doctor love permeates the air. Every night, I come to an almost empty home. Walang maingay, walang madaldal, walang makulit.
