the last days of my 2005

wrapping up 2005.. here's some recounts of my last days (for 2005) spent well.. DECEMBER 24

one more day till christmas. nanay was already finished preparing the food for the noche buena by 6pm. earlier, we were told that there will be a "panunuluyan' in the evening, before the misa de gallo starts. by past 7PM, nanay and i went to church to participate in the 'panunuluyan' procession. it was my first time to attend such. when we got to the church, i looked for mama mary's 'carosa', but could not find any. then we saw a couple dressed as mama mary and papa joseph.. it was then i learned that those two would re-enact the 'panunuluyan', the time where mama mary and papa joseph were looking for a place to stay for the night, since mama mary might give birth any minute from then.
so off we go. there were 4 stops, for each stop, papa joseph and mama mary would knock at the door, and the (acting) landlord would open the door and tell them that there's no available space already.
of course, the procession ended at the church, it was already past 9 by then. nanay and i just waited since the mass will start at 10PM.

i had bibingka while waiting for the mass to start.

another play was done in the middle of the mass. good thing we had front row seats.

the mass ended at half past 11PM. so the next thing is noche buena and opening of gifts! in our haus, christmas will be never complete without hot chocolate and hamon.
DECEMBER 25

came for work on christmas day, since i'm on an odd day shift for the month. i was actually thinking of putting work off for the day, but the holiday pay rings in my ears the loudest.
me and my teammates did a photoshoot this day - our way of spending christmas! =)
DECEMBER 28

nanay and i attended janice' (my kababata in pacita) wedding. the wedding was held at the basilica of san sebastian, reception was at the illustrado, intramuros, manila.

went to quezon with nanay

tatay did the palitaw, another new year tradition in the haus. lola used to do this when she was still here. o well, lola will be with us the next christmas anyway.

meet aling naning, the ever super dependable and trusty! the best neighbor anyone would love to have! one of lola's best chums here in pacita. she came over at our haus a few minutes before 12 midnight since we were chatting with lola thru YM with webcam. they waved and said their hellos at each other!

notice the cups in our dining table? it's only four, the table that used to be crowded every noche buenas and media noches are now left with only half of what it was. we were seven then - lola, nanay, tatay, me, jaene, marl and louraine. and for this year, it's only the four of us - tatay, nanay, me and louraine. nakakalungkot at one point. good thing they called us at new year's time, and i can see lola and jaene thru the webcam, okay na rin kahit papano.
