another paranoia

since I bought my baby rebel, my pc's second partition, which only has 20gig, is just not enough (i do not save any file in drive c:, i leave it for system files only). see, in one occasion, i could fill up the 2gig memory card, as i shoot in raw. pictures in raw format still need to be converted, either in jpg or tiff format, and once it gets converted, the size balloons from 8Mb to upto 46Mb - and this is just one photo! now do the math!

so, to solve this dilemma, i need to back up my precious precious photos to another form of data storage. having another hard disk is way to expensive. my pc has a cd writer, but CDs only allow 700Mb. and i thought of DVDs! (i back up my precious in two sets, one for viewing and one for back up)

so one shiny day of december '05, i came running to the pc store and bought a spanking dvd writer. i was the happiest girl in town that time!

i thought everything was going to be fine, but lo! this morning, as i was surfing, i stumbled on this site.

i know that CDs will not last that long, but hey, the site says it only got 2 years! 2 years!

so here's the grand plan. i need to burn my back up DVDs to another DVDs. and i'll be doing that every 2 years! every 2 years!
