Lady of Fatima
Saturday, May 13, 2006
Today's the feast of Our Lady of Fatima. The three of us; me, Nanay and Lola went to the church at 5 in the morning. There was supposed to be a procession at 5:30. However, due to srong winds and rains (thanks to Caloy, the first tropical storm for May), the parishioners opted to stay inside the church. We prayed the rosary until 6:30 and then the mass followed. But as the mass was about to begin, a power outage came. Since the generator had no fuel (as what I heard for the elders behind our backs) the priest had to go down the platform so that we could hear him. A small table (it has a name for sure, but I don't know what it's called) was used as a makeshift altar. See photo below.

May 1 PhotosFlores de Mayo has officially started. I took Mama Mary's and Saint Joseph's shot at around 5pm, when there's only few people inside the church. I don't feel at ease taking photos inside the church with so many people around.
After taking pictures inside the church, Louraine and I headed to the vacant lot besdide. This is the area where people, young and old alike, jog in the mornings and children fly kites in the afternoons. I feel sad that the bare land is now being transformed into a commercial center. I felt like singing "they paved paradise, and put up a parking lot" while taking this photos
